There are ongoing threats against justices and families.
Congress has received a request from the Supreme Court for additional funding of $12.4 million to better protect the court building and the justices.
The numbers include $5.9 million to expand the Court Police’s protective services and $6.5 million for physical security improvements for the Supreme Court building itself.
“On-going threat assessments show evolving risks that require continuous protection,” the budget document states. “Additional funding would provide for contract positions, eventually transitioning to full-time employees, that will augment capabilities of the Supreme Court police force and allow it to accomplish its protective mission.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For members of Congress as they consider the request for added funding to protect the justices of the Supreme Court and enhance building security.
- For the safety of the Supreme Court justices and their families as threats to their security have continued.
